I asked Sr ELF Michael to stand next to an amazing, huge ancient olive tree so the size of the three could be better comprehended. Thinking about the age the tree must be and seeing how it had weathered its own growth by dropped branches and otherwise re-configuring itself made this tree seem a tangible sacred object. We continued walking to a nearby ampitheater - small be comparison to others in the Aegean region.
