Cairo Part 4: First protest groups on Friday

We learn that things are going to start getting rough after noon prayers on Friday. No tourist spots are open. We go up to the hotel roof to observe after returning from the Antiquities Museum.

 Abel.
The first wave of protesters come into view.

 Streets start to fill up.
Abel gives us a sprig of basil.

Police form a barrier and start shooting off tear gas. Our eyes and lips begin to burn, and we begin to cough.

Tear gas starts to permeate the air.
We watch Al Jazeera with the owner of the Windsor and with other guests.

We look out windows...

One guest goes outside and brings back a tear gas canister. (I now read that these are U.S.-made.)
