On the way from Eskisehir to Usak this morning at the bus station there was a young man (wearing the red scarf) who was leaving town to begin his military service. His family and friends came to celebrate the occasion and brought the band. This scene is apparently being played out in Eskisehir, Istanbul, and other cities that are taking in their new group for military service. Last night in Eskisehir there was a lot of horn honking and yelling in a celebration of some sort. I thought the football tam must have won a match, but it was groups of these fellows like this one leaving for their service.
