TED Bursa Koleji visit - ACCESS

This week I traveled to Bursa to attend a final presentation of about 30 ACCESS students at the TED school in Bursa. The students have made amazing progress, and it is very obvious that the teacher, Betul,  has prepared them well. One young girl - the one in these photos - stood up and spoke directly to the Consul General to thank him for the opportunity to attend the program. She said that she wants to do many good things for people in her future and that the program is helping her do that. I was very moved by her courage in standing in front of everyone to say these words. Betul says she did not ask the girl to say this. The student took it upon herself to make this statement. I loved this visit.
